मुंबई: मुंबई एयरपोर्ट में कस्टम विभाग ने 62 किलोग्राम सोना जब्त किया है। दावा किया जा रहा है कि मुंबई हवाईअड्डे पर सीमा शुल्क के इतिहास में एक दिन में यह सबसे बड़ी सोने की जब्ती है। एक अधिकारी ने रविवार को कहा कि सीमा शुल्क अधिकारियों ने यहां छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाईअड्डे पर अलग-अलग अभियानों में 32 करोड़ रुपये का 61 किलोग्राम सोना जब्त किया है, जो एक दिन में हवाईअड्डे पर विभाग द्वारा जब्त की गई सर्वाधिक कीमत है। अधिकारी ने कहा कि कम से कम सात यात्रियों, पांच पुरुषों और दो महिलाओं को शुक्रवार को किए गए बरामदगी में गिरफ्तार किया गया था।
अधिकारी ने कहा कि पहले अभियान में, तंजानिया से लौट रहे चार भारतीयों के पास एक किलो सोने की छड़ें मिलीं, जिन्हें कई जेबों वाले विशेष रूप से डिजाइन किए गए बेल्ट में छुपाया गया था। उन्होंने कहा कि अधिकारियों ने यात्रियों द्वारा अपने धड़ पर पहनी गई बेल्ट से 28.17 करोड़ रुपये मूल्य की 53 किलोग्राम यूएई निर्मित सोने की छड़ें बरामद कीं।
अधिकारी ने बताया कि यात्रा के दौरान दोहा हवाईअड्डे पर एक सूडानी नागरिक ने यात्रियों को बेल्ट सौंपी। उन्होंने कहा कि चार यात्रियों को गिरफ्तार किया गया और एक अदालत ने 14 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया। इसी तरह, सीमा शुल्क अधिकारियों ने दुबई से आए तीन यात्रियों से 3.88 करोड़ रुपये मूल्य का आठ किलोग्राम सोना जब्त किया।
उन्होंने कहा कि दो महिलाओं सहित तीनों मोम के रूप में सोना ले जा रहे थे। अधिकारी ने कहा कि यात्रियों द्वारा पहनी जाने वाली जींस की कमर में सोने को चतुराई से छुपाया गया था। उन्होंने कहा कि महिलाओं में से एक की उम्र 60 के आसपास थी और व्हीलचेयर पर थी, तीनों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया और न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया।

At least seven passengers, five men and two women, were arrested in the seizures made on Friday, the official said.
In the first operation, four Indians returning from Tanzania were found carrying one kg of gold bars, which were concealed in a specially designed belt with multiple pockets, the official said. He said the authorities recovered 53 kg of UAE-made gold bars worth Rs 28.17 crore from the belts worn by the passengers on their torso.
During the journey, a Sudanese national handed over the belts to the passengers at the Doha airport, the official said. The four passengers were arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court, he said. Similarly, Customs officials seized eight kg gold worth Rs 3.88 crore from three passengers arriving from Dubai.
He said that the three, including two women, were carrying gold in the form of wax. The gold was cleverly hidden in the waistband of the jeans worn by the passengers, the official said. While one of the women was in her 60s and was on a wheelchair, all three were arrested and sent to judicial custody, he said.
